DATES: JUNE 1 – AUGUST 7, 2020
Our Adventures in History Summer Camp is a great way to earn community-service hours. And it’s an excellent opportunity for prospective future teachers.
SHIFTS: Volunteers must be able to work a full week of camp at a time. Shifts are Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 1 – 6 p.m.
DUTIES: Assist teacher and children with camp games, crafts, activities, breaks, museum exploration, and offsite field trips. Follow all classroom rules and serve as role models.
DEADLINE & REQUIREMENTS: Register online and email teacher’s letter of recommendation to Diane.Masciale@ocfl.net by March 27, 2020. Volunteers and a guardian must attend a mandatory orientation March 7 or March 28, 2020 (2 – 4 p.m. at the History Center) and complete a background screening, required by Orange County and the state of Florida, at least 4 weeks prior to volunteering.
