SunScreens Film Series featuring “First Man”

Sunday, July 21, 2 p.m.

“First Man” is a look at the life of astronaut Neil Armstrong and how he became the first man to walk on the Moon, fifty years ago on July 20, 1969. This 2018 film stars Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong and Claire Foy, from the TV series “The Crown,” as his wife. The movie received including two nominations at the 76th Golden Globe Awards (winning Best Original Score), ten nominations at the 24th Critics’ Choice Awards (winning Best Editing and Best Score), seven nominations at the 72nd British Academy Film Awards, and four nominations at the 91st Academy Awards (winning Best Visual Effects).

Our SunScreens Sunday matinees features films linked to Florida. We’ll supply the popcorn, along with fascinating facts about each film. There’s nothing like seeing a movie the old-fashioned way: with a group of fellow movie fans. The series is free for members! Popcorn and beverages will be provided.
