Youth & Family Day: History’s Heroes

Saturday, November 16, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Heroes aren’t born heroes—they’re ordinary people doing extraordinary things! Join the History Center and WUCF to celebrate some of the historical heroes who have shaped Florida’s past and present. Learn about pioneering aviator Bessie Coleman, build your own model airplane and demonstrate your best daredevil pilot moves, get in touch with your creative side to make animations like the innovative Walt Disney, and have a chance to interact with some of Central Florida’s own historical heroes. In addition, visitors will get a sneak peek at the new PBS KIDS animated series, Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum, and enter for a chance to win an Ordinary People Change the World book package! And, of course, make sure to collect your themed History Buff Button! Collect a History Buff Button from FOUR separate Family Day events to receive one free admission pass to the History Center.

No registration is required for this drop-in program, and admission to the museum is free.

* Activity supplies are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
