Lunch & Learn: Genealogy

Friday, November 2, noon

For the past several months, History Center staff have been working with five local influencers as they explore their DNA and family histories. The results reveal a great deal about the rich heritage and diversity of our Central Florida community. Join us to explore what we learned, what brick walls we hit, and what types of resources are available to you in Central Florida to begin your own genealogical journey. Guest speakers will include Elaine Hatfield Powell of the Central Florida Genealogical Society and Allison Ryall of the Orange County Library System’s West Oaks Branch and Genealogy Center.

This program is designed to complement the History Center’s latest exhibition from the Smithsonian, Genome: Unlocking Life’s Code, on display from October 13, 2018, through January 6, 2019.

Bring a lunch or let us order one for you by calling 407-836-7046 – lunch orders must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Members free; non-members $5. With lunch: Members $8; non-members $13.
