The Historical Society of Central Florida has a lot to be thankful for as the holidays draw near.  But we are most grateful for the opportunities we’ve had to make a difference in the lives of people here in our community who couldn’t have benefited from the History Center without the help of the dedicated donors like you.  So, as we ask you to give to our annual campaign, we do it with grateful hearts that together we will make a difference in the lives of the people of our community.
 
 
When thinking of the lives we’ve influenced this year, we are reminded of three brothers who attended one of our History Center camps.  The boys received a week rich in learning, individual attention, and encouragement to be more than perhaps they had ever imagined they might be. Their family could not afford the cost of camp, but the boys were awarded scholarships thanks to generous support from you and other donors. Without it, these children would have never had this experience.
 
 
These young brothers also received a daily meal – simple as it sounds, we later found out, it’s not always a part of their day.  It’s just a reminder that we can’t always predict how we will affect people and their lives, but we do in myriad ways.  Your donation will set in motion its own unique story.
 
 
The History Center is a stable organization serving a definite need in our community.  In the current economy, the need is greater than ever, and your support becomes more important than ever. We invite you to give to our annual campaign.
