Staff Accountant (Part Time)
This position is a part-time position, 20-30 hours per week. This position is responsible for processing and posting the Historical Society's accounting transactions such as invoices, payments, and expenses in accordance with department procedures.

Experience and education preferred:
This is a non-exempt position that requires the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees, and with a variety of constituents. Knowledgeable in Federal, state, and local contract regulations regarding grant funds a plus.
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.

Staff Accountant (Part Time)
This position is a part-time position, 20-30 hours per week. This position is responsible for processing and posting the Historical Society's accounting transactions such as invoices, payments, and expenses in accordance with department procedures.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintains accounting files including the general ledger and preparation of monthly adjusting entries and supporting schedules.
- Oversees the preparation of payroll and time sheets to payroll agency.
- Checks and verifies accounting data, enters data into computerized accounting system, and uses system to research questions and generate reports.
- Performs related general clerical duties including bank account transactions, monthly bank reconciliations, and other related duties.
- Assists the executive director in preparation of annual budget, supporting schedules, and reports for the executive director and Board Finance Committee.
Experience and education preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field or associate degree in accounting with commensurate experience.
- Experience in using Sage accounting software.
- Experience in using MS Excel to produce reports.
- Ability to organize and maintain records effectively following management standards and with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written format.
- Experience in working with non-profits and an understanding of non-profit accounting.
- 5-7 years experience.
