Opera at Bat: An Evening of History, Baseball, and Music

Thursday, May 11, 2023, 6:30 – 8 p.m.

Opera Orlando’s next show, Baseball: A Musical Love Letter, is a cabaret-style musical revue that weaves together baseball history with music from every corner of the American Songbook — opera, musical theater, and jazz. It traces baseball’s past from the sport’s early years, through the 1919 Black Sox scandal and the Jazz Age, the rise of the Negro Leagues, the establishment of the Women’s Baseball League, and the trailblazing career of Jackie Robinson.

Opera at Bat will include selections from the show intertwined with historical commentary from Orange County Regional History Center staff focusing on surprising ties to the Central Florida area.

Admission is free. RSVP requested.
