Grand Opening of Genome: Unlocking Life’s Code

Saturday, October 13, 2018

On grand-opening day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., enjoy free admission to our new limited-run exhibit from the Smithsonian, Genome: Unlocking Life’s Code, presented locally by Orlando Health. Do you have your father’s curly hair? Or your mother’s dimples? These traits are part of the blueprint that makes up your unique genetic code. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., our free, drop-in “DNA & Me” family workshop features onsite and take-home activities including a Genome Trivia Wheel, “Make & Eat” Gummy Bear Helix, “Make-It-Take-It” DNA sequence bracelet, DNA extraction necklace, and LEGO DNA helix building zone. (Supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.)
