Figurehead Opening Bash

Friday, September 9, 7 – 9 p.m. (6 – 9 p.m. for All Access ticket holders)

NOTE: Pre-registration closes today, Friday, September 9, at 4 p.m. Tickets may still be purchased at the door.

Party with us as we kick-start our newest exhibition, Figurehead: Music & Mayhem in Orlando’s Underground! It’s an eye-catching experience that tells the story of how Orlando-based concert promoter Figurehead invigorated Central Florida’s musical landscape and inspired innovative graphic design that captured the energy of the era.

“Many amazing bands played in Central Florida during the late 1980s and ’90s, and Figurehead was at the forefront of attracting musicians of note, while also building a community where local acts could thrive,” says Jeremy Hileman, one of the exhibition’s curators.

Musical acts featured in Figurehead: Music & Mayhem include Black Flag, Jonathan Richman, Drivin N Cryin, Seven Mary Three, Matchbox Twenty, Sonic Youth, and many more. Posters for their concerts, mostly created by Central Florida designers, make for a visually stunning exhibition.

At the opening bash, you’ll be the first to view this exciting exhibition, meet people who shaped Orlando’s underground music scene, and enjoy live music, food, and drinks. Each ticket holder will also receive an epic swag bag to take home! The Green Today will provide live music and we will feature DJ Bonilla, spinning music of the Figurehead era.
