Coffee & Conversations: Singer-Songwriters in the Central Florida Music Scene

Sunday, December 11, 2 – 3 p.m.

Join Jeremy Hileman, History Center assistant curator, as he welcomes singer-song writer Terri Binion for a very special tour of our latest exhibition, Figurehead: Music & Mayhem in Orlando’s Underground. Through Binion’s own experiences, the two will dive into themes throughout the exhibit and explore the experience of singer-songwriters in the Central Florida music scene.

Binion started writing songs in the California desert at the young age of 11. It wasn’t until she was grown and a resident of Orlando for more than 15 years that the Central Florida music scene began to burst open. From her first recording, which included industry veterans, Orlando supported Binion and her music as she went on to play venues including New York City’s The Bottom Line and Nashville’s sacred Ryman Auditorium. Through her journey, Binion discovered the gift and the power of a good song and the value of having her community back home in Orlando embrace her to this very day.

Admission is free.
