“Yesterday This Was Home” Exclusive-Access Virtual Tour

Thursday, April 29, 6:30 p.m.

Last fall the History Center opened Yesterday This Was Home: The Ocoee Massacre of 1920, a landmark exhibition to mark 100 years since the event that remains the largest incident of voting-day violence in United States history.

Join us for this special-access, curator-lead virtual tour of the exhibition with our subject experts and learn about not only this horrific time in our community’s history but also historical and recent incidents of racism, hatred, and terror, some right here at home.

We will encourage reflection on a century of social transformation, the power of perspective, and the importance of exercising the right to vote, and ask what lessons history can inspire for moving forward. Take advantage of this last-opportunity tour with the creators of Yesterday, This Was Home.

Members free; non-members $8.
