Days packed with exciting activities for every member of the family let everyone in on the action. Chocolate 101: History and Tasting with Francine Segan

Discover chocolate’s history starting with its New World origins and transformation over the years into the treat we know and love. As you’re guided through a tasting of various types of fine chocolates, learn the roles Christopher Columbus and Casanova played, how 17th-century European high society experienced chocolate, and how candy is made today.Francine Segan has been featured in many TV specials for the History and Discovery channels and the Food Network. Segan is the author of five cookbooks including “Shakespeare’s Kitchen” and “Opera Lover’s Cookbook” and has been nominated for both James Beard and IACP awards. Program at 1 p.m. followed by a book signing. Members: $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 12 and under. Non-members: $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 12 and under. Space is limited. Family Night at the Museum

Spend a night at the museum—and bring the whole family! Play games, go on scavenger hunts, win prizes, and watch a Disney movie. Participate in "The Bear Family v. Gold E. Locks" trial in the courtroom and see what other fun activities the History Center offers! 6 p.m.-8 a.m. Families include one adult and up to four children ages 5-11.
