Highwaymen Weekend

A group of 26 African Americans found success as artists in the segregated south of the 1950s. Meet 6 of the artists, hear their stories, and purchase their uniquely Florida paintings during the History Center’s Highwaymen Weekend. Artists available 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday’s artists are Mary Ann Carrol, Roy Mclendon, and Robert Lewis Jr. Sunday’s artists are James Gibson, Al Black, and Isaac Knight. Museum open Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday noon-5 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling (407) 836-7010. Special two-day Highwaymen Weekend admission ticket: $15 for adults; $12 for seniors (60+), students and military with I.D. One day: $9 for adults; $7 for seniors (60+), students and military with I.D. Call (407) 836-7010 for more information.

Join us in our historic 1927 courtroom for a demonstration, followed by a Q&A with Universal Orlando Resort Show Directors, Richard Cravens and Lora Wallace in the exhibition. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Included in general admission.
