SunScreens Film Series featuring “Cocoon”

Sunday, May 19, 2 p.m.

Directed by Ron Howard, the 1985 movie “Cocoon” was filmed in the St. Petersburg area. The film features Don Ameche, Wilford Brimley, and Hume Cronyn as trespassing seniors in a Florida retirement community who find themselves brimming with youthful vigor after swimming in a pool containing mysterious objects. “Cocoon” won two Academy Awards – Best Supporting Actor (Don Ameche) and Best Visual Effects. Parental warning: includes mature themes.

Our SunScreens Sunday matinees features films linked to Florida. We’ll supply the popcorn, along with fascinating facts about each film. There’s nothing like seeing a movie the old-fashioned way: with a group of fellow movie fans. The series is free for members! Popcorn and beverages will be provided.

Members FREE; Non-members $8.
