History in a Glass: The Florida Highwaymen

A Libation Competition for the Ages
Thursday, December 13, 6 – 9 p.m.

In our History in a Glass series, local craft bartenders compete for bragging rights by creating libations inspired by historical themes and artifacts.

At our series finale, we’ll celebrate the Florida Highwaymen – the 26 self-taught African American artists who created more than 200,000 landscape paintings that they sold door-to-door, or from the trunks of their cars, in the racially unsettled times of the 1950s and 1960s. Now they are members of the Florida Artists Hall of Fame.

Original Highwayman Robert Lewis will join us and paint during the event.
