Smithsonian Museum Day: Bee a Part of History!

Saturday, September 22, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Celebrate National Honey Month at the History Center and receive free admission with your Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day ticket!

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., enjoy free family fun and take-home activities*:
• Make beeswax candles, pioneer-style
• Sample Florida honey, including orange blossom, sea grape, saw palmetto, tupelo, and wildflower varieties
• “Meet” the legendary citrus grower Dr. Phillips
• Spin a prize wheel and learn fascinating facts about honey
• Receive take-home treats including a honey sample, recipe booklet, seed packet and sticker

Folks from Black Bee Honey in Orlando and the Dutch Mill Nursery in Sanford will be on hand and offer their hometown honey for sale. Thanks too to our sponsors: the Florida Wildflower Foundation, the National Honey Board, and the Orange Blossom Beekeepers Association

*Craft supplies and take-home treats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
